Editorial policy

The short version.
tecMAMBO publishes technology reporting, analysis, explainers, opinion, and documented hands-on reviews. Named people remain responsible for what we publish. We attribute source material, label uncertainty and commercial content, distinguish reporting from opinion, and correct material errors openly.
1. Reporting and sources
We prefer primary sources such as official documents, filings, product documentation, research papers, public records, and direct statements. When another publication breaks a story, we identify and link to that reporting. We do not present a press release as independent reporting, and we explain its origin when it informs a story.
2. Verification and editorial review
Writers are expected to verify names, dates, figures, quotations, and central claims against the sources recorded with an article. Current gated articles require source checks and approval by a named human editor before publication. Older work is reviewed as it is updated. If a claim cannot be confirmed, we describe the uncertainty or leave it out.
3. Leaks and rumours
Leaks and rumours are labelled clearly. We identify what is confirmed, what is reported, and what remains unknown. We consider the source's track record, available evidence, independent corroboration, and the public value of publishing before treating unconfirmed information as news.
4. Product reporting and reviews
Product news may rely on official information and cited independent reporting. A tecMAMBO review is reserved for documented hands-on use and identifies the method, testing period, product source, limitations, reviewer, and approving editor. Research-based assessments are labelled as analysis, explainers, first looks, or buying guidance rather than hands-on reviews.
5. Opinion and analysis
Opinion is labelled as opinion and reflects the named author's judgement. Analysis uses facts and sourcing to interpret events, but it does not pretend that interpretation is a confirmed fact. News headlines and summaries are written to distinguish reporting from commentary.
6. AI assistance
AI tools may assist with organisation, transcription, drafting, headline options, language cleanup, or structured data. AI output is not treated as a source. It may not invent facts, quotes, tests, or attribution. A named human editor remains accountable for verification and publication approval in the current gated workflow, and material AI-generated or substantially altered images are labelled.
7. Commercial relationships
Sponsored and partner content is labelled visibly. Affiliate links may earn tecMAMBO a commission, but they do not determine a verdict or recommendation. Writers and editors must disclose a relevant conflict of interest. Advertisers and partners do not receive the right to rewrite independent coverage.
8. Corrections and reader feedback
Material errors are corrected transparently. Readers can report a possible error through our contact page. Our complete process is available in the corrections policy.
