It's worth being precise about the sequencing, because the two flagship events don't actually overlap the way "kicks off" coverage sometimes implies.
Lagos Blockchain Week has moved to October
Earlier event roundups listed Lagos Blockchain Week for September 7 to 12. The event's official site now lists its master class, Hack/Pitch, CEO Forum and mixers for October 6 to 9, followed by its summit, demo and awards on October 10.
That change matters for anyone planning to attend. The September dates still appear in some third-party coverage, but the organiser's current schedule is the safer source for travel, registration and programming decisions.
Nigeria Fintech Week is September's anchor
Nigeria Fintech Week, FintechNGR's flagship platform, runs September 22 and 23 across Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. Last year's edition drew over 12,500 attendees across a multi-city, simultaneous format, and organisers are positioning 2026 as bigger still.
Between the two flagship events, Lagos also hosts the SME Africa Summit on September 19, expected to bring together more than 1,000 founders, digital creators, and ecosystem operators focused on infrastructure and digital tool adoption for small businesses.
